Which conventional packaging materials conflict with vegan or clean beauty requirements?

What materials and inks can a vegan-compliant rigid box use?
Standard rigid box construction materials are vegan-compliant: chipboard and greyboard cores use cellulose-based binders; wrapping papers are wood-pulp-based; water-based PVA adhesives used in assembly are synthetic; and metalised polyester foil films — the carrier for hot-foil stamping — contain no animal-derived components.
For offset printing, Huamei holds soy-blend inks on file for select production runs. Soy-blend inks substitute a portion of the petroleum-derived ink vehicle with soy-derived oil, reducing VOC (volatile organic compound) output and improving ink biodegradability compared to petroleum-based inks. FSC chain-of-custody certification is the single most commonly specified paper and board sustainability credential in clean beauty brand packaging audits.
